Comic Strip Geeky Facts
In 1988, The Comic Strip won The Golden Rose for their film The Strike.
On returning home, the two writers- Peter Richardson and Pete Richens,
drove up to Yorkshire to give the real Arthur Skargill a cheque for the
prize money they received with the award. Arthur thanked them both, gave
them a lecture on Coal Mining then asked them to leave-what a gentlemen!
In the Comic Strip
film Queen of the Wild Frontier, there is a scene where Lynsey Baxter and Peter
Richardson's characters are driving the pregnant Julie T Wallace to the
hospital, Lynsey and Julie are in the back of the car and Julie's dog is in
there as well going mental, except it is a puppet operated by Lynsey!
Charu Bala Chokshi who plays Meera in
Little Britain played the Cashier in the Cafe in The Comic Strip Film
'Bad News Tour' (she denied Den half a sausage for a quid)
